Camera and Internal Storage
The rear camera has a 5 MP AF sensor similar to most other smartphones in this price range. If you are looking for something bigger you can consider Micromax Canvas Spark with an 8 MP rear camera sensor. On the front side a basic VGA shooter is present for basic selfies. The rear 5 MP camera can record 1080p full HD videos Internal storage is 8 GB and can be further expanded by another 32 GB using MicroSD card. This is the maximum you can expect for below 6,000 INR and thus shouldn’t be a deal breaker for the price.
Processor and Battery
The handset is powered by MediaTek’s tried and trusted 1.3 GHz quad core MT6582M processor which was a fad last year. The chipset is capable of delivering great Android experience for basic users, but isn’t trendy anymore. RAM capacity is 1 GB, which is again standard for the price. Battery capacity is 1800 mAh. The battery can fully charge in 3 hours and Xolo claims max 20.8 hours of talk time, 7.47 hours of web browsing time and 500 hours of standby time on 2G.
Display and Other Features
The display is 4.5 Inches in size with usable FWVGA resolution. With around 1,000 INR you could score a sharper displays from present generation flash sale devices. Xolo has used an 218 ppi IPS LCD panel with 2 point multi touch support. Other features include Dual SIM functionality, Bluetooth 4.0, 3G, WiFi and AGPS. Software is Android 5.0 Lollipop, though at this point of time, manufacturers should focus on relatively more stable Android 5.1 Lollipop ROM in new devices. The handset will be available in several bright colors.

Conclusion
Domestic manufacturer’s need to step up their game. Xolo Prime has been designed for offline markets, i.e., it isn’t meant to attract flash sale rush. The handset will be a decent option for first time users switching from feature phone, who have elementary usage requirements.
