The Xiaomi Redmi Y2 is a selfie centric device and it is a rebranded Redmi S2, that was launched in China earlier. The device will come with the same specifications as the Redmi S2 and it is the successor of the Redmi Y1 that was launched last year.
Xiaomi Redmi Y2 Specifications
The Xiaomi Redmi Y2 will sport a 5.99-inch HD+ 2.5D curved glass display with a resolution of 1440 x 720 pixels and an aspect ratio of 18:9. The phone will run on MIUI 9 based on Android 8.1 Oreo.
In terms of hardware, the Xiaomi Redmi Y2 will be powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC coupled with Adreno 506 GPU. Memory wise, the device will come with 3GB RAM + 32GB internal storage and 4GB + 64GB internal storage options. Coming to the camera, the Redmi Y2 will feature a dual camera setup at the back consisting of a 12MP primary camera with f/2.2 aperture, 1.25μm pixel size, PDAF and a 5MP secondary camera with an LED flash. On the front, the selfie-centric phone will sport a 16MP camera with an LED flash. Connectivity options on the device will include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, 3.5mm audio jack, FM Radio, GPS and a USB port. The Xiaomi Redmi Y2 will be powered by a 3,080mAh battery.
