According to the latest reports by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp Web has new features like Private Replies in group chats and Picture in Picture mode. When it comes to the app, WhatsApp has received features such as Tap to Unblock a user, New invite via link shortcut, Shake to report, and Admin settings. Here are all the details regarding new features with the screenshots.
New Features on WhatsApp Web
WhatsApp Web with version number 2.7315 has got two new features.
Picture in Picture
The Picture-in-Picture feature on WhatsApp web is similar to the mode that was available already on the app since September. The feature lets users open a video in a separate floating screen that includes controls such as a play/pause button, volume controller, and timeline slider. There is a new icon that will be available when you are watching the video and after selecting this icon, the picture in picture mode will start in a new window.
Private Replies
The Private Reply is a new feature for the WhatsApp Web. This feature lets you send a private reply to someone in a group message on selecting it. The feature has been found in the beta version of WhatsApp web, so it will soon be available for all.
New features on WhatsApp mobile
WhatsApp for iOS, Android and Windows Phone with the beta versions 2.17.424, 2.17.436 and 2.17.437 respectively get new features as well
Tap to unblock user
This latest feature in the beta build will give an option where it is possible to just tap and hold any contact to unblock the person and send a message to the contact.
New invite via link shortcut
There is another new feature for WhatsApp app as new invite via link shortcut. The new feature lets group admins send a link so that the interested members can join the group. It is already available for iOS and coming to Android soon.
Admin Settings
The Settings page will also be added to the app for group chats. The new setting will give group admins the controls of sending messages and editing the group info as well.
Shake to Report
Apart from these, there is another new feature called Shake to Report in the WhatsApp version number 2.17.437. It will give users access to report the problems that they face with the current version of the app with just a shake. To activate the feature, users need to open WhatsApp and just shake the handset, the feature will then open the Contact Us section of WhatsApp. Facebook-owned WhatsApp has been getting a host of new features in the recent times. Recently there were reports that WhatsApp Business would soon be launched as a separate app. Now, these new features which have been appeared in the beta versions of the app, so they will make their way into the stable version of the messenger soon.
