Vodafone Mobile Vans were first introduced in January 2017. As of now, these vans have covered over 450+ villages in Rajasthan and they will move on to reach the more remote villages. Vodafone aims to make its rural customers lives simpler and better by utilizing the benefits provided by its Mobile vans. To recall, the Central government had made it mandatory to link Aadhaar with the customer’s SIM card. Also, if already linked, customers need to re-verify it with their operators. This re-verification facility is going to be online and through calls from December 01, and users will no longer need to visit operator’s store. But, for rural area consumers who are unaware of this update, it could be a tough task. So, in such case, Vodafone’s Mobile Van initiative will be quite helpful.

Moreover, the company has also been strengthening its 4G network in the rural area of Rajasthan for a long time. Most of the rural areas are still using its 2G or 3G network. Now, with the doorstep facility to upgrade to 4G will help it gain more consumers to its 4G network. Commenting on the initiative, Amit Bedi, Business Head- Rajasthan, Vodafone India, said, “The Vodafone Mobile Vans will ensure that our existing 2G/3G customers are able to enjoy the benefits of Vodafone SuperNet 4G with free SIM upgrade done at their doorstep. The service of linking SIM number with the customer’s Aadhaar is an important step in line with Vodafone’s commitment to a Digital India. I am happy to say that this service has now been made simple and accessible to our valued customers even in remote villages, through our Mobile vans. Over the past 10 months, we have helped thousands of customers with 4G SIM upgrades along with their Vodafone SIM linked with Aadhaar number.”
