While these are just a usual mix of pre-announcement rumors, Xiaomi seek to improve upon their existing Mi Band iteratively, instead of rethinking the product. The Mi Band 1S is said to include an optical heart-rate sensor that should be a step up from the previous implementation of a sleep tracker. This should enable precise and more accurate heart-rate measurements, possibly even opening up new features. Although the price of the new Mi Band will still be the same (the older variant may see a price-cut), the new sensor in the Mi Band 1S will have the spectacular 30-day battery take a hit.
Any prospective buyer of the current Mi Band should undoubtedly wait till the 11th of November when, if the rumours are to be believed, we will see the Mi Band 1S being launched. Either way, you can be certain we will cover any new developments on Xiaomi’s new band as and when we hear more.
