Apart from updating the Swype keyboard Oppo has added a Burmese keyboard Feozen. Long pressing the menu button will now open recent apps for smooth multi tasking. Oppo has also fixed the issue of WiFi failure while doing backup and restore. Oppo has also fixed Signal strength and GPS issues with respect to India. Other changes include elimination of haphazard vibration when you cover proximity sensor and more stable Contacts app.
To refresh your memory OPPO R1 comes with a 5 inch IPS LCD display with 720p HD resolution and is powered by MT6582 quad core processor clocked at 1.3 GHz and assisted by 1 GB RAM. Other features include non expandable 16 GB storage, 8 MP rear / 5 MP front camera (HD recording) and a 2450 mAh battery. The focus here is on user experience and not raw hardware specs. We did like Color ROM on top of Android 4.2 jelly bean in R1. It’s a good on Oppo’s part that it listened to customer feedback and acted promptly to solve these issues. Oppo does price its product above the other Chinese manufacturers, but it aims to strive for better customer support and user experience. Oppo is also planning on providing one of its kind onsite warranties in India, for its smartphones, by the year end. We must say we like Oppo’s deportment.
