The successor to the Moto X, allegedly dubbed ‘Moto X+1’, is due anytime this summer. While the device has been in the news for quite a while now, exact specifications weren’t known until now. It is GFXBench, a benchmarking tool for Android which gives us a glimpse at the specs sheet of the Moto X+1.
Continuing to focus on the user experience rather than a specs sheet to boast of, the Moto X+1 is expected to feature a 5.2-inch 1920 x 1080p display, a jump worth 0.5-inches from the current flagship. The device is also said to run on the Snapdragon 800 SoC, with the usual always listening feature enabled. The Snapdragon 800 features an Adreno 330 GPU, which will take control of the graphics on the device. To go with the powerful processor, Motorola are said to have included 2GB of RAM, which many feel is the ‘sweet spot’. As you would expect, the device will come with Android v4.4.3 KitKat right out of the box. On the imaging side of things, the Moto X+1 is said to pack a 12MP shooter at the rear, along with a 2MP on the front. While the upgrade isn’t as significant as those on processing and memory segments, the 12MP shooter is expected to bring in some extra detail compared to the 10MP that is found on the Moto X. The device will be as customization-friendly as the Moto X, so you can expect a wide array of rear covers and shells to be available for the device after launch.
