Microsoft announced that the new Surface Pro with LTE Advanced option has Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X16 Cat 9 modem with the support of 20 LTE bands. It offers speeds of up to 450Mbps and comes only in Core i5 version. Other specs are similar to the Surface Pro including a 12.3-inch display, 8MP rear, and 5MP front camera. However, it is not clear if the LTE model will offer the same battery life as the WiFi model.

Microsoft Surface Pro LTE Advanced specifications

Coming to the specifications, the Surface Pro features a 12.3-inch display with a resolution of 2736 x 1824 pixels. The screen has a 3:2 aspect ratio and also comes with PixelSense 10-point multi-touch display.

The Surface Pro is powered by 7th generation Intel Core i5 processor with HD Graphics 620. It is further coupled with 4GB or 8GB RAM and 128GB to 256GB of SSD storage. The portable computer runs Windows 10 S out of the box. The Microsoft Surface Pro features an 8MP autofocus rear camera with 1080p video recording. At the front, it has a 5MP front-facing camera with 1080p video recording as well. The laptop’s hinge also has a full 165-degree range of motion, which is useful for writing, sketching, and drawing. Connectivity options on the laptop include 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.1, Full-size USB 3.0, microSD card reader, Mini DisplayPort, Cover port, and Surface Connect. Sensors on board include an Ambient light sensor, Accelerometer, and Gyroscope. The Surface Pro also features 1.6W Stereo speakers with Dolby Audio Premium and Stereo microphones.

Price and Availability

The Microsoft Surface Pro with LTE Advanced comes in two memory options. The 4GB RAM with 128GB SSD version is priced at $1,149 (Rs. 74,400 approx.) while the 8GB RAM with 256GB SSD version costs $1,449 (Rs. 93,820 approx.). The new laptop will begin shipping to the business consumers in December 2017, with wider availability expected in early 2018.
