Today, Twitter bound @LeaksterInc has stated that popular chip maker MediaTek has released KitKat drivers for some of its chipsets including MT6577, MT6589, MT6592, MT6592T, MT6589T and MT6582M. The lower adoption rate of the Android KitKat update by the smartphones based on MT6589 should probably be related to this only. Now, with the launch of the KitKat drivers, we can expect the India based vendors such as Micromax, Xolo, Lava, Karbonn and others to roll out the latest iteration of Android platform – v4.4 KitKat to their eligible smartphones with ease. The updates are believed to happen in the near future making these handsets on par with those of the global players.
