Camera and Internal storage
The LG L65 sports a 5 MP camera on the rear which supports digital zoom and LED flash, and can be used to take HD pictures as well as to record high definition videos. The camera shoots sufficiently satisfactory photos it terms of clarity and color reproduction, and comes with all the popular basic features such as Geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection etc. On the front, a VGA Camera is provided as the secondary camera. The device comes with an inbuilt storage of 4GB, out of which around 2 GB would be available to the user. A memory card slot is provided which allows the user to expand the storage using a micro SD card of up to 32 GB. However, apps cannot be installed on the SD card in this device which is a huge disadvantage.

The LG L65 comes with a Dual core Qualcomm MSM8210 Snapdragon 200 chipset clocked at 1.2 GHz and an Adreno 302 GPU. Accompanying this processor is 1 GB of RAM as seen on some other devices of the LG L series, such as the LG L70. A 2100 mAh battery is available with the device to fulfill the power requirements of this smartphone. We can expect this to last one day with moderate usage.
Display and features
The L65 features a 4.3 inch IPS LCD display with a WVGA (480X800) pixel resolution, giving it a pixel density of 217 pixels per inch. The pixel density is thus somewhat on the lower side and due to this while the display of the device looks decent during normal usage, angles are not visible clearly. One of the primary and most exclusive feature of this dual sim device is that it comes with Android 4.4.2 (KitKat) out of the box – therefore users will get the latest Android OS on their device, which is missing in majority of other devices in this price range. Infact, this device comes with some other premium features too, such as Guest Mode capability, Battery Saver etc. Some extra Gesture features are also provided in the device. The device will also have LG designed smart covers available separately which provide instant access to the clock, weather information, music etc. and allow the user to accept or reject a call from the cover.

Some of the direct competitors of this device would be Samsung Galaxy Core GT-I8262, Micromax Canvas Turbo Mini A200, Sony Xperia M, Spice MI-535 , the New Moto G etc. Availability of some big screen smartphones and phablets such as the Karbonn Titanium S9, Xolo Q 1000S, Lenovo A850 etc. in the same price range will result in tough competition for the LG L65, especially as many of the mentioned devices have quad-core processors and other hardware specs which might be considered better on paper

The LG L65 is expected to be available with the price tag of about Rs.11600 for India. At this price, there are options with better hardware available to the customers but as we all know, a proper balance between the hardware and the software as discussed in our article here is what actually defines the effectiveness of a device. A decent display in a device which is filled with some premium software features and provides a good rear camera, plus the availability of the latest Android OS imply that this budget smartphone offers a reasonably good option to the users.
