Camera and Internal Storage

The camera at the back of the Titanium S9 Lite is an 8MP unit which is quite a good thing seeing the fact that it is a sub Rs 10,000 device and that’s the most you can expect in this price range. It is joined in by a 2MP front snapper which facilitates video calling and selfies. Needless to say, it has a pretty well rounded off camera department and we have no complaints from it in this regard. The internal storage stands at 4GB which is available for expansion by 32GB courtesy of the microSD card slot which is available. Since it features specs towards the higher end of the entry level spectrum, we would have liked to see 8GB of internal storage capacity to make matters better.

Processor and Battery

Ticking inside the Titanium S9 Lite is a 1.3 GHz quad core Mediatek processor that has been teamed up with a 512MB RAM. The processor is a decent performer but is let down a bit by the limited RAM capacity. A 1 GB RAM capacity would have made things much better seeing the fact that the likes of Moto E which cost less come with a 1GB RAM which allows for a better optimization. The battery unit giving the Titanium S9 Lite juice to run is a 2,100 mAh battery which comes across as a slightly smaller unit seeing the fact that the device has a really large screen and the battery would drain pretty fast if it is used for viewing multimedia content a bit too much.

Display and Features

The display unit of the smartphone is a 5.5 inch one which has a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. You can expect good viewing angles too seeing the fact that it is an IPS display unit. At this price, we have no complaints with the screen of the Titanium S9 Lite. It runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean which as a feature we are not much appreciative of. With Android KitKat becoming one of the major differentiating factors in budget smartphones these days, this one might get lost amidst other Jelly Bean running smartphones. There are no hopes of it getting an update either in the future.

Comparison

The Titanium S9 Lite will be going up against the likes of Micromax Canvas Win W121, Xolo Q1010i, Intex Aqua i5 HD and Lava Iris 504Q+ among many other budget devices. Its screen size will be the only differentiating factor against the competition.

Conclusion

You are always going to be left wanting for more in the budget segment and same is the case with the Titanium S9 Lite. You are left wanting for more RAM and that is the only not so good thing about it. The battery isn’t great either but we can live with it. On the other hand, the camera and screen are the two major factors which are going to aid the sales of this well rounded off budget smartphone.
