Using ING Vysya App
You can download ING Vysya App for free from Playstore (Android) or App store (iOS).To configure the app, you will require your debit card credentials and customer ID provided by the bank. After you register, you can simply login or check your balance meter (even without logging in) or swipe to the Locate tab to find an ATM near your location or to Messages and attend to correspondence from bank. You can configure more than one account in the app and set one as favourite. The balance meter will mark to this account. Let’s take a look at some of the important feature of this app.
My Account
Under my account option in the main menu, you can check your account balance, start a fix deposit and even opt for recurring deposit accounts which are gaining popularity these days. You can easily handle your savings from one place without having to schedule appointment with the bank and waste your precious time. You can also transfer funds and view recent transactions to keep a track of your expenditure.
Fund Transfer
You can transfer your money to any bank account any time of the day. The app also allows you to manage contacts of people you like to regularly transfer money to. ING has also provided with an option to automatically send SMS to relevant contact after the transaction. As the app follows National Electronic Fund Transfer (NEFT) and Real Time Gross Settlement (RTGS) standards, you can only transfer money within India. We are not yet sure if ING will deduct marginal amount for these transactions.
Save Cheques
You can save all your Cheques by clicking their images and store them on iCloud backup for future reference. In case you need to write several cheques on routine basis, this feature can come in quite handy for organized and secure record keeping. You will also get the option to order new Cheque book online and to stop cashing of a particular cheque, all from the comfort of your home.
Bill Payment and Shopping
In case you are not using any trusted Online portal for recharges and bill payments, you can pay all kinds of post paid bills or complete prepaid mobile and DTH recharges directly from your bank account using this app. This way, you won’t have to share your credentials with third party wallets.
The app doesn’t tell you about the current offer recharges and plans offered by your telecom operator but that won’t be a deal breaker. You can also check for ING deals and share them with your friends if you like.
Check Investments
To further complete your banking experience, the app allows you to keep tabs on your investments by tapping on Wealth and Loans tab. You can also keep track of your loan payments. In case you find any discrepancy, the option to connect to the banks is also available nearby.
Conclsuion
ING Vysya provides a wholesome banking experience. We particularly liked the freedom it offers with regards to opening FDs and RDs. One issue with the app is that it doesn’t ask for password if you minimize it and re open it through recent apps in the next 5 minutes. Many people might object to balance meter display Account balance without asking for login. Some minor privacy issues aside, ING’s attempt is a credible one.
