Basically, Google is doubling your donation. For every $1 that is donated to the Hurricane Irma donation fund, Google will add in $1 from their side, ultimately reaching the $2 Million target. The company states that this donation will help recover and rehabilitate those who have been affected by Hurricane Irma in the US and Caribbean islands. Google states that the donations of the Hurricane Irma donation fund will go to Network for Good, via which it would be sent to various charity organizations such as UNICEF, American Red Cross and Catholic Relief Services. The funds will be evenly distributed among the three.
Moreover, Google states that the entire amount of donation that is made to the Hurricane Irma donation fund will go to the Hurricane victims and Google will cover all the processing charges too. With millions of people affected and property worth Billions lost, Hurricanes are often the most devastating forces of nature. It takes a long while to get lives back to normal as everything gets disrupted.
