Physical Overview
HTC Desire 825 has a big 5.5 inch display with 69.1% screen to body ratio. Its dimensions are 156.9 x 76.9 x 7.4 mm and it weighs around 155 grams. The phone has a sleek design with only 7.4 mm thickness. HTC Desire 825 has a Soft-grip design with Unique Micro Splash finish that is very sporty and refreshing but it may not go well with the professional look. The Phone features a soft-touch Polycarbonate body and complementary lanyard strap to complete a personalised look. Like its colorful design the standout buttons also comes with a vibrant feel. Here’s what it looks from all the angles. At the top there is a speaker grill, front camera and ambient & light sensor. On the bottom three capacitive buttons that are back lit. On the right side there is a volume rocker and the power key On the left side, the SIM and MicroSD card slots On the bottom edge is the USB type c port, loudspeaker and primary mic The back has the Primary camera on the corner and HTC logo right in the center
User Interface
The HTC Desire 825 comes with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow with HTC sense UI. The latest version of HTC Sense UI has been improved to make it smarter. HTC has worked on it and has made it easier to use. The new Sense UI comes with nice customization options including thousands of themes, freestyle layout that allows you to place each icon, widget and stickers to the place you wish to. Moreover, the new Sense UI does not occupy much RAM and Storage like the earlier one.
Display Overview
The HTC Desire 825 comes with a big 5.5 inch Super LCD capacitive touch screen display, with a screen resolution of 1280×720 pixels. The display has a color depth of 16M colors and the pixel density at 267 PPI. The display is protected by Curve edge Gorilla Glass protection. The display comes with color personalization option and meets the expectations we have from HTC. But again like HTC One X9 the large 5.5 inch display is more than enough to have a nice engrossing experience but it can be a disadvantage, because it cannot be easily handled with one hand.
Camera Overview
HTC Desire 825 is equipped with a 13-megapixel Auto-focus camera with LED flash, ƒ/2.2 aperture and 27.97mm focal length. The Camera features Geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, BSI sensor, HDR mode and panorama mode. The rear camera supports High Definition video recording at the rate of 30 frames per second. The front camera is a 5MP fixed focus shooter with f/2.8 aperture and 33.7mm focal length. The Front camera also supports some additional features like Auto selfie, Voice selfie, Live make-up etc which are very interesting.
Competition
HTC Desire 825 is priced at Rs. 18,990, and it will be available in India very soon. The phone will have to compete with its own HTC Desire 820, Desire 826, Samsung Galaxy J7 and Galaxy A5 and A7, OnePlus One, Lenovo Vibe shot and Apple Iphone 4s among others.
Conclusion
HTC Desire 825 comes with a Nice sporting and Sleek design, Big 5.5 inch display with Gorilla Glass Protection, HTC BoomSound speaker with Dolby Audio, all new HTC Sense UI, nice camera, fast charging support and some special features like HTC Connect, Motion launch, Flip to Mute etc. The HTC 825 will be available for purchasing in June via online and other stores. Although, the price is a little high for this hardware and a relatively small battery but we will give our final verdict after full review of the phone.
