Moving forward the same efforts, Google has recently added a feature to automatically delete your web and app activity after a specific period. In this post, I’ll show you how you can use this feature to automatically delete Google web and app activity.

Automatically delete Google Web and App activity

The automatic delete option is also available in the Google My Activity page, below are the step-by-step instructions to use this feature. Go to Google My Activity page and login with your Google account. There will be a new “Go to your Web & App Activity” link at the top, click on it.

In the top panel, select the “Choose to delete automatically” option.

There are two time periods to select, keep data for 18 months or 3 months. Make your choice and hit “Next”.

Now click on “Confirm” on the next page and all your current data before the respective period will be deleted and any data older than that period will be automatically deleted in the future.

If you need to revert these changes, click on the “Choose how long to keep” button in the top panel and select “Keep until I delete manually”.

Wrapping up

So that’s it, now all your older activity will be deleted automatically as the time passes. Although I must say that only offering 18 and 3 months period is very limited. I don’t think it would have been difficult for Google to let us choose a custom period that we prefer. What do you think about the new controls Google has added?
