Camera and Storage It has a pretty well taken care of imaging department. It gets a 13MP rear camera with LED Flash which has a BSI sensor and f/2.2 aperture for brilliant picture quality and low light photography. It also gets the ability to record videos in 1080p and a 5MP front snapper. The same is at par with the competition but produces better pictures. There is 16GB of internal storage available which gives you plenty of space to store all your applications. You also get microSD card support to expand the memory by another 32GB. Processor and Battery The Gionee Gpad G4 has been bestowed upon by the MT6589T turbo processor which has four of its cores clocked 1.5 GHz . A PowerVR SGX 544MP2 GPU complements it pretty well but the 1GB RAM might just let you down. A 2GB RAM would have made it a perfect deal. A 3,200 mAh battery gets thing done pretty well and Gionee has done well to provide the device with a battery that would give it the juice to last it a little over a day. Display and Features A 5.7 inch IPS display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels adorns the front of the smartphone and is based on One Glass Solution technology for added protection. The 720p display might seem a bit stretched on a bigger screen but the IPS unit with good viewing angles makes up for the same. It runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and will get a update to Android 4.3 as well if Gionee plans on being in India for a longer run. Just in case, if you are lucky, you might just get to taste KitKat goodness as well. It gets in-built DTS audio, gesture features and Gionee Xender App. Looks and Connectivity The smartphone looks way better than any other device in its league, courtesy of the aluminium body it brings to the table. Its dimensions of 163.5 x 81.3 x 7.95 mm make it a pretty sleek device for the size it brings along with itself. Connectivity is taken care of pretty well with the presence of 3G, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth and GPS with A-GPS. NFC being made available would have been welcome but it is not that we are complaining about the same either. Comparison Xolo Q3000 and Intex Aqua Octa Core will emerge as its prime competitors which offer a better spec sheet at the same price point. But what makes the Gionee Gpad G4 stand out is its aluminium body. Other competitors include Nokia Lumia 1320 and Samsung Galaxy Grand 2. Key Specs Conclusion Gionee Gpad G4 comes across as a well rounded off device with an amazing build quality. A price tag lower by a couple of grands would have done wonders for it. We’d suggest you wait a bit for the price to come down if you are hell bent of buying this one.
