Gionee Elife S5.5, is the Gionee Slim phone GN9000 we talked about some time back. The specsheet is slightly different than what was earlier reported. The Gionee Elife S5.5 is now the world’s slimmest smartphone at 5.5 inches of body sleekness beating Vivo X3 (From the same company which makes OPPO). Good thing is that, Gionee claims to achieve this feet without compromising on Battery efficiency.
The phone packs a 1.7 GHz quad core CPU instead of octa core MT6592 chipset as earlier speculated. The RAM capacity backing 4 CPU cores is 2 GB. The display is 5 inches in size, but the display resolution has not been specified yet. Gionee Elife S5.5 will feature a 13 MP camera at the back along with a 5 MP front shooter. The battery rating and back up have not been compromised either. Gionee has managed to fit in a 2300 mAh battery inside the sleek body casing and it claims that it will last one whole day usage similar to the flagship phone. Gionee Elife S5.5 (3G) is already available for pre-order in China for $370 and the LTE variant will be announced later in June. Gionee has confirmed the availability for 40 global markets and we expect the device to arrive in India soon for a price tag around 20k INR. (Considering Gionee India and China Pricing so far). We will update you with other hardware specifications soon.
