Weight and Body Dimensions
The Elife E6 has body dimensions of 142.5×69.4×7.9 mm and weighs only 128 grams. The Lenovo K900 which has a significantly larger display is even sleeker at 6.9 mm. the complete body dimensions are 157 x 78 x 6.9 mm which makes it much wider. It is also significantly heavy at 168 grams. Both of these phones have pretty good Build quality which was inline with our taste, Lenovo K900 has metallic finish and Elife E6 has a slab like plastic body design
Display and Processor
Gionee Elife E6 comes with 5 Inch IPS LCD display with full HD display and in our time with the device we found the color reproduction and viewing angles to be comparable to high end phones. The pixel density is 441 pixels per inches which also accounts for fine clarity. The Lenovo K900 will appeal more to those who love bigger displays. This Phablet sports a 5.5 Inch full HD 1080 p display which is protected by Corning Gorilla glass 2. This 10 finger multi touch display will give you 401 ppi which is again a very fine clarity display. Elife E6 is powered by a 1.5 GHz quad core MT6589T SoC based on Cortex A7 architecture and assisted by PowerVR SGX 544 GPU. This is the best processor we have seen on smaller brand phones in India. This processor, backed by 2GB RAM, gave us fluid performance in general purpose operations but the gaming performance was below our expectations. The Lenovo K900 comes with a better Intel Atom Z2580 clover trail+ which Is a dual core processor clocked at 2 GHz Clock frequency and is assisted by similar Power VR SGX544 MP2 GPU whose clock frequency has not been specified. We will come up with Lenovo K900 full benchmark review soon enough. Based on little online research this chipset is expected to perform better.
Camera and Memory
The primary camera of Gionee Elife E6 is 13 MP camera with 5 element lens and the secondary camera of 5 MP is also present in this smartphone for Video calling. The primary camera has wide F/2.2 Aperture and Back Side Illuminated (BSI) sensor for better low light performance. LED flash is also present for low light photography. The camera unit comes from Sony and performs very well Lenovo K900 also comes with a 13 MP primary Auto focus camera with Dual LED flash with F/1.8 which is capable of full HD video recording at 30 fps. This camera is also a great performer. A 2 MP camera is also present at the front . The primary camera in this phone is also from Sony. The RAM memory in both of these phones is 2 GB, and the internal storage is not expandable. Still Gionee is a clear winner here. Gionee Elife E6 comes with 32 GB of internal storage whereas Lenovo K900 comes with only 16 GB of internal memory out of which only 9 GB is available at the users end which is really scarce considering the price tag.
Battery and Features
Both of these phones are not great performers in this area. Gionee Elife E6 does manage to pull off one day usage on a meager 2000 mAh battery with the help of some software optimization feature. Lenovo K900 has a power hungry 5.5 Inch screen and 2500 mAh battery which also barely reaches the one day mark. Elife E6 comes with a Amigo O.S. based on Android 4.2 where as Lenovo has its own UI on top of Android 4.2. Elife E6’s UI makes it sluggish and Lenovo’s UI looks odd and is not feature rich. These are grave issues but won’t affect you in day to day operations.
Key Specs
Conclusion
Lenovo K900 scores in display and build quality arena, but has only 9 GB of non extendable storage. If that works for you and you like big screen phones, you can consider it over Gionee Elife E6 and you can also consider biger display phablet Huawei Ascend Mate available at a similar price range. Gionee Elife E6 has great display and built quality, is comfortable to hold, and has a great camera. The gaming performance however was not up to the mark. Ofcourse power users can root and install stock android to improve performance.
