The idea behind the Micromax to sign an exclusive partnership with Cyanogen could be to highlight the operating system on its Yu brand of smartphones, thereby drawing the attention from consumers from OnePlus One to Yu. Notably, those OnePlus users who have imported the devices from US can still receive the update in India. As per the deal, only Micromax can have the official build of Cyanogen in India. Though users can flash it to their devices, it is disappointing that a smartphone with impressive aspects and appropriate pricing will not support official updates.
