Asus Zenfone 2
The Asus Zenfone 2 comes with a 5.5 Inch full HD display protected by Gorilla glass 3 on top. The side bezels are quite narrow and the tapered outer edge of this curved back smartphone is only 3.9 mm thick. The rear key (volume rocker only) which we are used to seeing on LG flagships, has also made its way to Asus Zenfone 2. The power button in present on top.
The new Zenfone is powered by 2.3 GHz 64 bit Intel Atom Z3580 quad core processor. ASUS claims that the CPU is 3.1 times faster than some of the quad-core competitors, while the GPU is up to 8.1 times faster. We don’t doubt these claims and expect the SoC to deliver top notch performance. We liked the camera on Zenfone 5 and 6, and ASUS claims significant improvement with 13 MP F/2.0 camera with HDR mode, Manual mode and True Tone Flash. The 5 MP selfie camera has an 85 degree field of view and can also capture 140 degree Panoramic selfies. Software is Android 5.0 Lollipop with latest Zen UI on top. The 3000 mAh battery supports fast charging and can charge by up to 60 percent in 39 minutes. The 16 GB – 2GB RAM variant will be available for just $199! However, you will have to wait at least till second quarter of 2014 to buy one.
Asus Zenfone Zoom
The ASUS Zenfone Zoom is the same Zenfone 2 with some changes to camera module which make it more suitable for photography enthusiasts. Asus also claims this is the slimmest smartphone with 3X optical Zoom.
The camera module also supports optical image stabilization. The camera has a variable aperture ranging from f/2.7 to f/4.8. Other features include True tone flash and laser auto focus similar to LG G3. Asus Zenfone Zoom will be available in second quarter of 2015 for $399.
