This Airtel recharge pack is clearly aimed at those prepaid users who consume a lot of data but do not have much need of voice calls. So, this plan now does not come with any bundled calls or free SMSs. There is no word on when it will be updated for other circles.
Airtel’s Rs. 98 pack
The Airtel Rs. 98 recharge pack in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana circle now offers 5GB 3G/4G data instead of 1GB that it offered earlier. However, Airtel has updated Rs. 98 plan in AP & Telangana only. As for other circles, the maximum data allowance with this plan is- 3GB in Kerala and 1GB in most of the other circles. Apart from this data-centric plan, Airtel also has a Rs. 93 plan which is voice call-centric. The Airtel Rs 93 plan offers unlimited calls, 100 SMS per day and 1GB data for 28 days which is aimed at users seeking more voice calls. The 28-day validity has been increased from the 10 days validity that the pack earlier came with. However, in AP and Telangana, the validity of the pack is still 10 days. When it comes to other telecom operators, Jio continues to offer 4G data at low-cost to retain more users. But now, Airtel doesn’t seem to be far behind as it is also updating its plans to provide customers with similar data and voice calling benefits. If we talk about Jio, the telco keeps providing low-cost data plans and also freebies such as cashbacks with its plans. At Rs. 98, Jio provides 2GB of bundled data and unlimited calls, 100 SMS messages per day and access to Jio apps for 28 days.
